Neirad the Darien High School Student Newspaper

This month Neirad Enilno reporter, Jesse Hodges, takes a look at sophomore Monica O’Brien’s crib. Her “cozy getaway,” as Monica calls it is a place where she can really relax. Monica is surrounded by photos of friends and family. There is another unique architectural detail: a chimney. It was once a working chimney but the O'Briens decided to close it over, and make it the focal point of the room. “I love this chimney so much because it is one of the things that makes my room so unique,” Monica said. Another one of Monica’s favorite parts of her room is how welcoming it is with its bright sky blue walls and nice white furniture that complements her crib. Take a look for yourself!

Cribs: Monica

“I love my room because of the location of it. I enjoy the privacy I get by having it on the third floor of the house -- it makes me feel like I am in a tree house.”

Cribs: book shelf

“ This wall of shelves is my favorite part of my whole room, I have pictures of my friends and family. My pet fish that my friend gave to me lives on the second shelf.”

Cribs: desk

“I do my homework on my desk in my room. I can usually focus best here.”

Cribs: chimney

“ This chimney is what makes my room so unique. It comes up right through the center of my room, so it really adds something different to it. It is also great for adding more wall space.”
