SR5 Gives Parking Lot the Flavvvvaa

As one pulls into Darien High School one can’t help but notice all the magnificent vehicles parked in the senior section. But there is one that just immediately grabs everyone’s eye. And that is the vehicle that Miss Princess Demi Gagliardi drives. A lovely silver Toyota 4Runner SR5. With all the exotic accessories decorated in and out of the SUV, it’s a ride you can’t miss. We sat down and interviewed chatty Demi and got the inside look on her "sweet ride".
When did you get your 4Runner SR5?
I got it a few months after I got my license because my parents didn't want me driving my brother’s truck because it was a piece of crap and what they called "not safe" even though I loved it. I got to choose the color but my parents thought a 4Runner would be a good safe car and I agreed. I love my stickers they give my car flavvvvaaa and they're fun and stuff like the beads and stickers add up from friends.
Do you keep it clean and what do you keep in your SUV?
I keep my life in my car. It’s kind of a problem because it gets very messy. I know I can always find a sweatshirt or a pair of nail clippers or even a towel for the beach somewhere in the back. I always want to clean it out, but then never get to it and more stuff just adds up.
I also always keep ChapStick and cds in my car as well as my phone charger because it’s convenient to charge it while I drive around.
Do you drive with your two little dachshunds a lot?
I never drive with Hoagie. But I just brought him because I know my friend Clem LOVES him so thought maybe I’d let him snap a few shots with me in the car. My mom drives with my pups a lot though.
Have you gotten into any accidents. If so, please go into detail!!
I’ve been in a few fender benders: a few too many. I’ve rear-ended a few people, once on the highway in traffic because I’m an idiot. And I’ve also backed up into my friend’s stone wall. The other day someone did a hit-and-run to my car and my dad refuses to get it fixed because I get in too many accidents, this is also a problem.
Do you drive a lot of places in your car..any road trips with friends??
I always volunteer my car with trips with my friends. For example to Vermont and my summer house in Madison because it can hold a bunch of people and the back window goes down and I don't really care about a mess, as you can tell. I LOVE MY FRIENDS. That’s also why.
You use to have a 'Blue Wave Lacrosse' sticker on your car...why did you take it off?!!?
I had a BWL sticker on my car because I’m really good at lacrosse. I always have been. I just decided I’d quit because I took away from all the rest of the players and they didn't look as good around me. I was doing my friends a favor. But I took it off because my jokester friends made fun of me. I’m more of a Roxy sticker type of gal anyway. (Demi also likes orange backpacks!)
Are you taking the the SR5 with you to the College of Charleston?
"I'm not driving to Charleston with my 4Runner. But, my brother, Mike, (DHS Class of 2005) is going to be down there first semester so we'll be driving down together in August. Hopefully, he'll be nice and let me use his car sometimes! But my parents won't let me take the car because they don't trust me with it down there plus Mike wasn't allowed to have a car until junior year, so it's only fair!"
