Sampson has a New Year’s resolution that you can help him achieve: find a new home. This Black Mouth Cur mix has been sitting at the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) in Westport waiting for a home since April. Sadly, many visitors came in and somehow passed this sweet guy over when they were looking for a pet. The folks at CHS don’t know why since Sampson is a wonderful dog.

This eight-year-old dog came to the shelter when his former owner moved and was unable to bring him along. An experienced owner is best since Sampson is a strong boy. He loves people but would do best in a home with older children or adults only and no other animals.

According to Breeds of Dogs Web site, the Black Mouth Cur is predominantly found in the South. They have even temperaments and are loyal to their families, giving their lives, if necessary, to protect their owners. The Black Mouth Cur is especially affectionate to women and children, and aloof with strange men.

If you are interested in adopting Sampson stop by CHS located at 455 Post Road East in Westport or call (203) 227-4237. Why not start the New Year off by making room in your home and your heart for Sampson.
