Our pet of the month is sure to brighten up anyone’s holiday season. Sasha is a cute American pit bull terrier mix looking for someone to spend this holiday season! For the past three years Sasha had been left tied to a tree in Delaware to endure the hot and cold without shelter and very little attention or proper care. Fortunately for Sasha, the PAWS rescue organization in Norwalk stepped in to save this friendly five-year-old girl.

Despite being treated poorly by her previous owners, Sasha is still very affectionate. Don’t believe me? Ask any DAWG member who attended last month’s meeting. Sasha came as a special visitor to Darien High School with PAWS member Beth Hrnciar to educate DAWG members about abuse of this breed and the inhumane fighting scenarios many pit bulls are forced to endure right here in the state of Connecticut. It is because of this mistreatment that many people associate pit bulls with being aggressive, dangerous dogs, but this is not the case with Sasha. (BTW - Sasha's visit to DHS inspired DAWG to donate $150 from its bake sale proceeds to PAWS!)

If you’re looking to do a good deed this Christmas, why not adopt Sasha? Make this Christmas her last one spent without love and proper care. If you are interested in adopting Sasha call PAWS at (203) 750-9572 or go to http://www.pawsct.org/dogapp.php?nop=Sasha to fill out the online application.
