Did you ever wonder what a classmate is like outside the confines of DHS? Well, a room is a personal testament to showcase anyone’s lifestyle: is their room glam-rock? Martha Stewart domestic perfection? Or maybe just slacker sloppy. Each month "DHS Cribs" Executive Producer Jorden Cappiello will take you inside a DHS student’s home – it’s our version of "MTV Cribs" with plenty of bling to rival the most fly hip-hop spread.

For this month’s "DHS Cribs," Jorden had to check out this girlicious pad for herself. Her Neirad colleague, Mike Hickey, said sophomore Charly Malpass’s beach-inspired place was something straight out of the pages of a Vogue magazine layout: beautiful colors, vibrant prints festooning the walls and decorative touches that will give our readers some cool ideas to zap up their abode. Charly's beachy room will make you long for April break. You will find yourself fantasizing about warm days lying on a Brazilian beach with nothing to worry about except putting on enough suntan oil to maximize your prom tan. So, thanks Charly for sharing your crib with Neirad Enilno! If you think your crib is worth showing off, Jorden would love to hear from you. Drop her a line @ neirad@darienps.org. Now here is Charly's crib in her own words.

“Frogs are cool- they have giant eyes and jump really, really high!” Charly says of her penchant for frogs. Oh, and check out the sick loft!

“I pretty much live in the ocean in the summer. My siblings, Sammy and Harrison, are more into surfing than I am, but I love the look of water and hanging pictures on the wall make my room brighten up!”

“I love Bob Marley. He is basically my idol and he’s dirty at reggae! My favorite quote of his is: ‘One good thing about music, when it hits, you feel no pain.'"
“My bulletin board was quickly put together from all the pictures and drawings that were laying around my room. I drew the girl in the corner- it’s a sketch of a model in a magazine. “Charles Parking Only” refers to me, but most people know me as Chuck.”

“I took all the photographs hanging up in my room, like the one over my big mirror. The pictures represent my style of photography. I like getting sick angles and a sweet contrast to make the photos really stand out.”

This full-length silver mirror has intricate gilt edging to provide an interesting contrast to the soothing blue and white color scheme. A sailboat picture perched in the corner of the mirror adds contrast -- anyone get the feeling Charly just can't wait for summer!
