Music Technology at DHS

 

Music Technology 1

Music Tech 1 is a one-semester, open enrollment "survey course" covering a broad range of topics in music technology including:

       • Basic acoustic science

       • A history of sound recording

       • Arranging and composition

       • Live audio engineering

       • Studio production techniques

       • Film scoring

Grading is based on in-class projects, quizzes and tests, and daily class participation.

 

Music Technology 2

Students who successfully complete Music Tech 1 may opt to take Music Tech 2, a semester course which focuses on:

       • Advanced studio techniques

       • Advanced live audio applications

       • Career options in music technology

       • Contemporary legal and ethical issues

          facing the music industry

Grading is based primarily on in-class projects, including a self-designed culminating project at the close of the semester.
